Introduction

Science is a systematic method created by people in an attempt to fathom the truth of the universe, but it is not the ultimate truth. People usually perceive and understand things from their own perspectives, thus unconsciously creating many barriers which block them from knowing the actual truth.

When attempting to understand things based only on one's own perceptions, the truth of the matter may not be seen. Su Shi (a famous Chinese writer from the Song Dynasty) once described this situation perfectly in one of his poems: "The mountain looks like ridges when you look at it horizontally. The mountain looks like a cliff when you look at it from the side. You cannot see the real face of the mountain because you are in the middle of the mountain."

People tend to think this way and it is difficult to change such a rigid mindset. Once a notion has been formed and accepted, it becomes an unchangeable "truth", even though it may not be the actual truth. A preconceived notion becomes ingrained in the mind and obstructs one from recognising the real truth of the universe.

"... Humankind will make a leap forward if it can take a fresh look at itself and the universe, changing its rigid mindset. The BUDDHA FA can provide people with insight into immeasurable and boundless worlds. Throughout the ages, only the BUDDHA FA has been able to completely explain human beings, the various dimensions of material existence, life, and the entire universe."
