A Queensland
lawyer is preparing a petition to go before the United Nations (UN)
on behalf of a Sydney woman who claims she was persecuted in China.
He has briefed human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson on the case.
Mr Robertson will present the petition probably next year.

am very glad to gain the support and help from the world-renowned
lawyer and human rights campaigner Sir Geoffrey Robertson, QC.
When we met each other he immediately told me, "I have
read your story. You have committed yourself to truth and suffered
a lot. It's really great." |

also told me that whenever he visited the Chinese embassies
or consulates and saw Falun Gong practitioners calmly sitting
there peacefully protesting, he was always deeply moved. He
said the Falun Gong practitioners were truly amazing. |

multiple times and abused by local police for his practice of Falun
Gong, a 56-year-old farmer from Heilongjiang Province was subjected
to forced-feeding with boiling water. Emaciated and unable to stand
on his own, he died in a Chinese prison on August 8, 2003.
